I’ve decide to look at BBC website, and the live lounge section as our playlist selection are mainly from the live lounge albums. Radio 1 always encourage popular artist from around the world with very diverse style of music from Eminem to Pixi Locks. These artist are massive artist and constantly topping the charts.

Here are the viewing figures from radio 1 off the rajar website, as you can clearly see that radio 1 is dominating viewing figure over the rest of the market. These are positive results as artist they’re using in their playlist are very similar, too most of what were looking to play on our station.

Radio 1 live lounge post their live recording onto youtube as part of cross-media which has turn out to be really effective resources. Just by searching – radio 1 live lounge. There were 5 video show below all the video had 100,000 plus hits, some even went upto 1,700,000 +

Radio Initial Ideas

We decided to create two radio shows , contrasting in style and visual appearance in relation to the cross meadia content.

Our first Show would share similar content and visual appearance to that of bbcs radio 1s xtra, the show normally realises tracks from up and coming djs and also features exclusive mixes for renowned djs and artists. As the show can be access not only via FM broadcast , but also via IPTV (internetprotcaltelevison) this service allows a audio and visual broadcast over the internet so this would be a appropriate service to research and base our visual and audio media on.

Our show will contain mostly Newley realise tracks and also exclusive tracks from up and coming djs from the surrounding area.

Content-

Music genre- Drum and bass, Dubstep , Grime , trance and Rnb

Features- Live exclusive mix from local dj (10min duration)

As the music selection would be unique among the collages current PRS licensed music we would have to refrain from broadcasting exclusive tracks released by the bbc.

The show will also feature currents news concerning new and up and coming djs , and also social events held by local clubs and bars,

From obtaining audience figures for bbc radio 1 xtra using RAJAR online service, we determined the audience listeners fro our particular show in relation to the main bbc channels, it was apparent that the channel had far lower audience figures than the main show due to the fact that the show

As from the results it clearly displays a low listener share for the Particular station , as the show is very Specific Concerning content and themes the type of show Generally create a cult listener group such as they listen to the type of music which is generally not mainstream.
